There is the complicated choreography, numerous changes of the set, fascinating pantomime scenes, the balls, the dragoons and the bandits. This is an elegant plot-based ballet, the ballet of “cape and sword”; missing this production would be an unforgettable error.
The world ballet star and the acknowledged king of the dance, David Hallberg, gives the brilliant performances of the title role. He creates an exciting image of Marco Spada, the “honorable” bandit and the loving father.
