Syria: Israel Strikes Near Presidential Palace In Damascus After Clashes, World Reacts | N18GIsrael attacked a Syrian "military target" in Damascus in fresh strikes. Israeli strikes hit the area of the Syrian presidential palace, which is a high-security compound where the interim President al-Sharaa receives visitors. Syria said it holds Israel “fully responsible” for this “dangerous escalation” and warned of consequences, reiterating its right to defend its land and people. Syrian leader called out Israel’s “wide-scale targeting” of civilians and govt sites. Syria also reported fresh strikes in the vicinity of the Mazzeh military airport. The Syrian interior ministry said the strikes killed three and injured 30. Strikes followed sectarian clashes in Syria’s Sweida between the Druze and Bedouin tribes. The US called on the Syrian government to withdraw forces from the flashpoint southern area. Iran's foreign minister condemned Israel’s “unhinged aggression”. Turkiye called the Israeli attacks on Damascus an "act of sabotage". The EU called on Israel to immediately stop strikes on Syria. UN chief Antonio Guterres condemned Israeli strikes on Syria.
