LOS ANGELES: Auto rast in Menschenmenge! Viele Verletzte - mehrere Menschen in kritischem Zustand!In der US-Westküstenmetropole Los Angeles gibt es viele Verletzte, nachdem ein Auto in eine Menschenmenge gefahren ist. Die Feuerwehr der Stadt meldete weit mehr als 20 Patienten nach dem Vorfall gegen 2 Uhr in der Nacht (Ortszeit). Vier oder fünf davon seien in «mindestens kritischem Zustand», hieß es nach ersten Informationen der Rettungskräfte.
Demnach ereignete sich die Fahrt in die Menge im Stadtteil East Hollywood auf dem Santa Monica Boulevard. Bei der Straße handelt es sich um eine wichtige Durchgangsader der Metropolregion Los Angeles. Sie bildet auch den durch Filme und Musik berühmten Abschluss der historischen «Route 66». In lokalen Berichten war in dem Zusammenhang auch von Schüssen die Rede, die vor dem Veranstaltungs-Club «The Vermont Hollywood» gefallen seien.
