Russia has launched a massive overnight air assault on Ukraine, striking the capital Kyiv and other key regions. At least four people were killed and dozens injured as Russian forces fired hundreds of drones and missiles, including hypersonic weapons, according to Ukrainian officials. Ukraine’s air force says it intercepted most of the incoming drones and missiles, but several strikes hit residential buildings, energy infrastructure, and critical facilities, plunging people into darkness. Authorities also reported missile impacts near Lviv. The attacks come as Moscow rejects a post-war peacekeeping proposal backed by European allies, which includes potential Western troop deployments and a US-led monitoring mechanism.
