After meriting, with tremendous help from Hashem, to inspire over a million Jews around the world with “Shaarei Shamayim,” and to see the song become part of the public repertoire, the Nachalat Yosef institutions in Shavei Shomron, under the leadership of Rabbi Yehoshua Mordechai Schmidt shlit’a, are pleased to present a new song: “Al Ta’azveni.”Every song we choose is first sung at the Friday-night tish in the Rosh Yeshiva’s home. Only after it has had time to settle and take shape do we decide whether it can uplift the Jewish people in their avodat Hashem and help them draw closer to Him and to His Torah.
This song gained even deeper meaning following the return of the captives and the stories of faith and heroism we heard from them. They described how, even in the darkest place and for such an unbearably long time, they felt that Hashem never leaves us and hastens to help every Jew who clings to Him.
The song was created through a joint effort of the hesder yeshiva and the younger yeshiva division.

אחר שבסייעתא דשמיא גדולה זכינו לרגש מעל מליון יהודים ברחבי העולם, עם 'שערי שמים', ולהכניס את השיר לרשימת השירים בציבור.
מוסדות נחלת יוסף שבי שומרון, בראשות הרב יהושע מרדכי שמידט שליט"א, שמחים להגיש בפניכם שיר חדש: "אל תעזבני".
כל שיר שנבחר, אנו שרים אותו לפני כן בכל טיש של ליל שבת קודש, המתקיים בבית ראש הישיבה, ורק לאחר שהוא 'מתבשל טוב', מחליטים אם זה יעזור לעמ"י בעבודת ד', להתחבר אל ד' ולתורתו.
השיר קיבל משמעות יתר, יחד עם שחרור שורדי השבי, ושמיעת סיפורי הגבורה והאמונה, בהם העידו איך הם הרגישו במקום הכי חשוך, למשך זמן כל כל ארוך, כמה ד' לא עוזב אותנו וחש לעזרת כל יהודי שמחזיק אותו.
השיר נעשה בשיתוף בין הישיבה הגבוהה-הסדר ותלמידי הישיבה הקטנה.
