For this symphonic version, we wanted the orchestra to hold what words alone cannot. Strings carrying the weight of something fragile and growing. Swells that mirror the feeling of a light caught just before it disappears.

Working with Neco felt like breathing. He brought something ancient and alive into the room — singing in Mozambican, reminding us that everything starts small, and that we should accompany its growth. "Mukome hi ntsongo na ha yetlelile": shape it while it is still small, before it settles and becomes fixed.

We made this song late at night in Portugal, when all the ideas had been set aside and only the truest thing remained. That is the song you are hearing now.

We could see it in all our smiles when it was done.
