«Una Stanza tutta per sè», nella sede della polizia locale di Treviso, è uno spazio dedicato alla protezione delle donne che scelgono di denunciare gli abusi e le violenze che hanno subito. Il nome richiama il saggio di Virginia Woolf, da cui trae ispirazione la filosofia del progetto. Il progetto ha preso avvio durante il mandato del Comandante Andrea Gallo, scomparso quest’anno, ed è stato portato a compimento dall’attuale Comandante Patrich Antonello. A Treviso una prima stanza era già stata attivata al Comando Provinciale dei Carabinieri. Quella inaugurata in via Castello d’Amore introduce però una novità importante: è la prima all’interno di un Comando di Polizia Locale, luogo percepito dalla cittadinanza come presidio di vicinanza, accessibile e quotidianamente al servizio della comunità. Qui è possibile presentare denuncia per violenze alle donne, poiché il Comando esercita funzioni di polizia giudiziaria e collabora con le altre forze dell’ordine competenti.
