KOMPAS.TV - Publik dibuat geger dengan terungkapnya 80 persen beras premium di pasaran dioplos dengan jenis varietas. Temuan ini membuat konsumen hingga pedagang cemas karena merasa dirugikan.Terungkapnya praktik curang dalam penjualan beras dengan mengoplos jenis beras varietas rendah dengan kualitas premium membuat konsumen dan juga pedagang resah.
Konsumen mengaku khawatir dengan adanya temuan ini. Mereka merasa dirugikan di tengah melonjaknya harga bahan pokok.
Tak hanya konsumen, pedagang beras pun dibuat cemas lantaran isu beras oplosan berpengaruh pada penjualan beras mereka di pasar. Mereka khawatir isu ini dapat menurunkan penjualan mereka.
Menteri Pertanian menyebut 26 merek beras sudah diperiksa menggunakan 13 laboratorium dan hasilnya telah dikirim ke Satgas Pangan. Selain itu, sebagian produsen dan penjual merek yang terlibat pengoplosan beras telah menarik produknya sekaligus mengubah harganya.
Sebelumnya, Kementerian Pertanian menemukan ratusan merek beras premium dijual tak sesuai ketentuan berdasarkan survei di sepuluh provinsi dari 6 hingga 23 Juni lalu. Kerugian ekonomi akibat praktik ini mencapai hampir 100 triliun rupiah per tahun.
