My 3 Month Asia Tour Almost Ended on Day 1
Seoul, I’m finally here, but man—this first week was a total gauntlet. I landed after 30 hours of travel with zero sleep and went straight into a tech-induced fever dream. From my desktop tripod snapping in half to realizing my camera adapter didn't even work with my new MacBook, I felt completely defeated. I spent hours troubleshooting gear and fighting with unstable internet that just wouldn't let me sync my audio. There was a point where I just wanted to call it quits for the day and hang it up. But then I took a step back. I went for a hike, saw the greenery intertwined with the city, and watched people out exercising at 11 p.m.. It shifted everything. I finally found the right gear, the internet held up during a test run, and that massive weight finally lifted off my shoulders. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions, but here’s what I’m taking away from it:Test your exact setup: Not just the gear, but the actual configuration you’ll use for a podcast or interview. Make a content cushion: Having a month of content ready before I left was the only thing that gave me the leeway to make these mistakes without losing my mind. Be prepared for the "what ifs": I recorded extra episodes in Toronto just in case something like this happened, and it saved me. Lean into gratitude: At the end of the day, I'm halfway across the world, I'm healthy, and I'm doing this. It could always be worse. We’re rolling with the punches now. Time to grab some birthday fried chicken and beer, and finally relax a little bit. Thanks for following along. See y'all in the next one.I’m hyped to be collaborating with Uppbeat for our "Monthly Cuts" series, where I feature creators I’m following.
