Sejak 5 Juni 2025, aktivitas tambang di Pulau Gag, Raja Ampat, Papua Barat Daya, dihentikan sementara oleh pemerintah.
Ditemui usai menggelar RUPS di kawasan Jakarta Pusat, bos baru PT Antam, Achmad Ardianto, bilang meskipun PT Gag Nikel tidak termasuk dalam daftar perusahaan yang dicabut izin tambangnya, namun untuk kembali beroperasi, Antam tetap menunggu keputusan resmi.
Pemerintah saat ini masih mengevaluasi operasi tambang di Pulau Gag. Namun Achmad memastikan kegiatan usaha Gag Nikel telah mengikuti kaidah pertambangan yang baik.
Kata Achmad, temuan pemerintah hanya bersifat minor, dan PT Gag Nikel siap melakukan perbaikan sesuai arahan.
