Im Supercup zwischen Bayern München und Borussia Dortmund sorgte Neuzugang Luis Diaz für eine emotionale Geste. Der 70-Millionen-Neuzugang erzielte sein erstes Tor für seinen neuen Verein und sicherte seinem neuen Team damit den ersten Titel der Saison. Doch anstatt seinen eigenen Erfolg zu feiern, gedachte er dem verstorbenen Diogo Jota. Der Portugiese hatte mit Jota beim FC Liverpool und in der Nationalmannschaft zusammengespielt und widmete ihm seinen Jubel. Die Geste rührte nicht nur die Fans, sondern auch seine Teamkollegen und Trainer. Diaz bewies damit nicht nur seine sportliche Qualität, sondern auch seine Menschlichkeit. Bayern München gewann letztendlich das Spiel mit 2:1.
