Manuscritos antiguos regresan a China tras 79 años en EE. UU.
Tras casi 80 años en el extranjero, dos volúmenes de los Manuscritos de Seda de Chu han regresado a China gracias al Museo Nacional de Arte Asiático del Smithsonian. Descubiertos en 1942 en el sitio de Zidanku (子弹库) en Changsha, estos manuscritos del periodo de los Reinos Combatientes fueron retirados ilegalmente en 1946 y circularon por instituciones estadounidenses durante décadas. Los volúmenes devueltos permanecen en estado fragmentado, mientras que el texto más completo sigue en el extranjero. Como los manuscritos de seda más antiguos conocidos de la antigua China, son fundamentales para el estudio temprano de la literatura, la filosofía y las prácticas de adivinación chinas. Su regreso resalta la creciente cooperación internacional en la repatriación del patrimonio cultural.
