Filmfestspiele von Cannes beginnt mit Eröffnungsgala
Viele internationale Stars und eine starke deutsche Präsenz prägen das diesjährige Filmfestival von Cannes, das am Abend mit einer Gala beginnt. Die französisch-malische Schauspielerin Eye Haïdara moderiert die Eröffnungsfeier, bei der der für seine „Herr der Ringe"-Trilogie bekannte neuseeländische Regisseur Peter Jackson eine Ehrenpalme verliehen bekommt.Zu dem internationalen Filmfestival, das bis zum 23. Mai an der südfranzösischen Côte d'Azur stattfindet, sind etwa 40.000 Teilnehmende angemeldet. Anders als auf der Berlinale sind die meisten Filme nur für registrierte Teilnehmende zugänglich. Als Eröffnungsfilm wird die französische Komödie „La Vénus Electrique" (Die elektrische Venus) gezeigt, die Ende der 20er Jahre in Paris spielt.
