Egypt vs Ivory Coast | EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS AFCON 2025 | 01/10/2026 | beIN SPORTS USA

Egypt national football team completed the semifinal lineup and will now face Senegal national football team for a place in the final after a ruthless display of finishing that overwhelmed Ivory Coast national football team. Egypt struck blow after blow, precise and clinical almost every time they went forward, from Omar Marmoush’s early opener to Mohamed Salah’s third goal, sealing a dramatic 3–2 victory.

Egypt suffered late on, but earlier they needed neither possession nor control—only a level of attacking efficiency that proved devastating. Every time Ivory Coast sensed an equalizer, Egypt responded with another goal. Admittedly, the Ivorian defense lacked the necessary firmness, a costly combination that led to their elimination despite their attacking intent throughout the match.

The breakthrough came just three minutes in. A perfectly timed pass from Emam Ashour, who assisted two of Egypt’s three goals, found Marmoush, who finished right-footed after a costly lapse by Odilon Kossounou. Losing sight of both ball and opponent for the second time in the play proved decisive, allowing the Manchester City forward to strike.

The second blow arrived from a set piece. Despite Ivory Coast dominating possession with nearly 70 percent in the first half, Ramy Rabia rose powerfully to deliver an unstoppable header, expertly directed across goal and into the far post.

Even Ivory Coast’s response before halftime failed to unsettle Egypt. A dangerous wide free kick from Yan Diomande created chaos in the box, and after a flick at the near post, Ahmed Aboul-Fotouh was unable to avoid an unfortunate own goal that made it 2–1.

Yet once again, Egypt’s sharp finishing made the difference at the start of the second half. Ashour produced a moment of brilliance, threading a delicate outside-of-the-foot pass from the right flank into the path of Salah, who restored the two-goal cushion. Ivory Coast pulled one back once more from a set piece through Guéla Doué, making it 3–2 and setting up a tense finale.

Egypt endured late pressure but stood firm until the final whistle, securing their place in the semifinals, where Senegal now awaits in what promises to be a heavyweight showdown for a spot in the AFCON final.
