Lo scrittore noir americano Michael Connelly, intervistato da Annachiara Sacchi, dice che se il suo ultimo libro («Falsa pista», Piemme) è persino più cupo del solito è un riflesso di quel che accade nel suo Paese; per le elezioni di midterm del prossimo 3 novembre immagina un voto che esprima lo scontento nei confronti del presidente Donald Trump, ma non ne è certo: «Non sai mai che farà questa amministrazione». Addirittura, sostiene, potrebbe truccare i risultati.Non è una preoccupazione solitaria, e non riguarda solo i sostenitori dei democratici, spiega la corrispondente dagli Stati Uniti, Viviana Mazza: oltre il 70 per cento degli elettori teme un qualche tipo di interferenza nel voto. Perché sarà un momento di passaggio importante per tutta la politica americana: si rinnova il Congresso e un terzo del Senato, e i nuovi equilibri determineranno le scelte dei prossimi due anni (fino alle nuove presidenziali del 2028). E' consueto che a metà mandato vinca l'opposizione, ragiona la caporedattrice della Redazione Esteri del Corriere, Marilisa Palumbo, ma c'è anche l'ipotesi che i repubblicani riescano a fare muro, dunque a contenete le perdite. Intanto per entrambi gli schieramenti sarà un test per i possibili candidati al dopo Trump.
