Çin nükleerde ABD'yi nasıl geride bıraktı?
Almanya nükleer enerjiden tamamen çıkarken, Çin tam tersine hızla yeni reaktörler inşa ediyor. 2013’ten bu yana 13 reaktör tamamlandı, 33’ü ise hâlâ yapım aşamasında. Toplamda 104 reaktöre ulaşması bekleniyor. Bu sayı, dünyada inşa hâlindeki reaktörlerin yarısını oluşturuyor.Çin, başlangıçta Batılı tasarımları taklit etti ancak artık kendi teknolojisi olan Hualong One gibi sistemleri geliştiriyor. Reaktörler düşük maliyetle ve ortalama 5-6 yılda tamamlanıyor. Bunun ardında devlet destekli finansman, standardize edilmiş tasarımlar, yerelleştirilmiş tedarik zincirleri ve uzun vadeli planlama var.
Amaç sadece kendi ülkesine enerji üretmek değil. Çin, nükleer santrallerini yurt dışına ihraç ederek diplomatik ve ekonomik bağlar kuruyor. Şimdiden Pakistan, Afrika ve Orta Doğu’da projelere başladı. Bu sayede enerji üzerinden jeopolitik nüfuz inşa ediyor.
Amerika ise geçmişteki liderliğini kaybetti. Güvenlik skandalları, artan maliyetler ve karmaşık bürokrasi nedeniyle büyük reaktörler inşa edemiyor. Şimdi odağını küçük, modüler reaktörlere çevirmiş durumda. Ancak bu projeler henüz başlangıç aşamasında.
Sonuç olarak Çin, hem karbon emisyonlarını azaltmak hem de enerji ihracatçısı olmak için nükleer gücü stratejik bir araç olarak kullanıyor. Enerji alanı, Çin–ABD rekabetinin yeni cephesi hâline gelmiş durumda.
