JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV Menteri Hukum dan Ham, Yasonna Laoly mendesak polisi untuk segera mengungkap dan menuntaskan kasus kematian Vina Cirebon. Yasonna singgung soal kasus salah tangkap Sengkon dan Karta tahun 1974
Hal ini disampaikan Yasonna saat ditemui di Gedung DPR Senayan, pada Rabu (12/6/2024)
Kasus salah tangkap yang dialami Sengkon dan Karta karena keduanya dituduh menjadi pembunuh dan pencuri.
"Kita berharap, semua kasus-kasus seperti itu, jangankan itu, kasus Sengkon dan Karta dulu itu sesudah mereka dihukum menjalani cukup lama, baru terungkap bukan mereka pelakunya," ujar Yasonna.
Dirinya juga ungkit kasus salah tangkap yang terjadi di Amerika Serikat. Seseorang yang pernah divonis hukuman mati namun dibebaskan karena bukan orang itu pembunuhnya.
