TRIP REPORT | Crossing the Atlantic on A340-600! | Frankfurt to Chicago | LUFTHANSA A340-600
Lufthansa Trip Report flying from Frankfurt to Chicago onboard one of the Lufthansa A340-600 on a beautiful autumn morning.A comfortable flight from Frankfurt to Chicago on Lufthansa's huge Airbus A340-600. The flight was fully booked but still, this plane offers a nice level of comfort.
After some exploration and planespotting at Frankfurr Airport Terminal 1, we finally boarded the A346 that would take us to Chicago. The flight didn't start great: some passengers didn't show up and their bags had to be removed, then we got a slot (air traffic regulation delay). If this wasn't enough, while starting engines there was a malfunction and we went back to the stand. Latee on, ww pushedback and finally started taxi and takeoff from Frankfurr almost 1 hour and a half late.
We crossed Germany and the Netherlands before entering the Northern Sea, flying towards the United Kingdom. We overflew its east coast and crossed it over Edinburgh and Glasgow. From there, we flew all the way over the Atlantic towards Canada. Greenland was completely under the clouds... but after a long time, we used our patented and unique "cloud removing tool" :)
We entered Canada after crossing the Baffin Bay and enjoyed some beautiful views of northeastern Canada starting to get the winter snow and ice. From there ww continued towarda the United States. After a beautiful approach over Lake Michigan, we landed in Chicago 1 hour late.
About the onboard service, it was quite ok. They served a full meal and a warm snack, which in my opinion is not enough... as it should be 2 main meals on a 9h flight. Anyway, the food was quite tasty and the crew was really polite.
