ANNALENA BAERBOCK: Keine Kandidatur! Außenministerin schafft Klarheit bei Nato-Gipfel in Washington

Annalena Baerbock will sich voll auf ihre Amt als Außenministerin konzentrieren und strebt keine erneute Grünen-Kanzlerkandidatur an. Statt in einer Kanzlerkandidatur gebunden zu sein, wolle sie angesichts der internationalen Krisen ihre Kraft voll ihrer aktuellen Aufgabe widmen, erklärte die Grünen-Politikerin in einem Interview des US-Fernsehsenders CNN am Rande des Nato-Gipfels in Washington.

«Die Welt ist offensichtlich eine ganz andere als zur letzten Bundestagswahl», sagte Baerbock laut offizieller Übersetzung des Auswärtigen Amts in Berlin. «Im Lichte des russischen Angriffskriegs und nun auch der dramatischen Lage im Nahen Osten braucht es nicht weniger, sondern mehr Diplomatie. Sonst füllen die Lücke andere», ergänzte sie.

«Staatspolitische Verantwortung in extremen Zeiten»

Baerbock fügte in dem von der CNN-Journalistin Christiane Amanpour geführten Interview hinzu: «Daher bedeutet in diesen extremen Zeiten staatspolitische Verantwortung als Außenministerin für mich: Statt in einer Kanzlerkandidatur gebunden zu sein, meine Kraft weiterhin voll und ganz meiner Aufgabe zu widmen, Vertrauen, Kooperation und verlässliche Strukturen zu bilden – für und mit so vielen Partnern weltweit und in Europa, die darauf bauen.»
