Hat Ex-BND-Chef Hanning spioniert? Was die Ermittlungen bedeuten
Von 1998 bis 2005 war August Hanning Präsident des Bundesnachrichtendienstes, BND. Er galt als gut vernetzt. Nun ließ die Generalbundesanwaltschaft den inzwischen 80-Jährigen festnehmen. Der Vorwurf unter anderem: Spionage und Landesverrat. Nach seinem Ausscheiden aus dem BND soll er lange streng geheime Dokumente abgegriffen und teilweise sogar weitergegeben haben. Hanning und seine Anwälte haben eine kurzfristige Anfrage bisher unbeantwortet gelassen. Jörg Diehl leitet die Recherchekooperation von NDR, WDR und Süddeutsche Zeitung und hat den Fall mitaufgedeckt.
