Der Notfallsanitäter ist der höchste nichtärztliche Abschluss im Rettungsdienst. Die Ausbildung dauert drei Jahre mit anschließendem Staatsexamen. Notfallsanitäter werden in allen medizinischen Fachbereichen geschult, um die erste halbe Stunde im Notfall abdecken zu können. Sie lernen in Extremsituationen einen kühlen Kopf zu bewahren. In der Realität wird der Rettungsdienst aber immer mehr gerufen, wenn ein Hausarztbesuch ausgereicht hätte. Das Ergebnis: Frust beim Personal und mehr Einsätze.
