Heavy Rainfall In Kolkata : 5 घंटों में ही बारिश ने कोलकाता ने मचाई तबाही ! | Mamata Banerjee | IMD5 घंटे में जब तीन सौ मिलीमीटर बारिश हो जाए तो कितनी तबाही होती है, उसी की गवाह हैं ये तस्वीरें. कोलकाता में बीती रात दो बजे से करीब पांच घंटे तक मूसलाधार बरसात हुई. इसकी वजह से पूरे शहर में पानी भर गया, सड़क हो, रेलवे स्टेशन हो, एयरपोर्ट हो, हर जगह पानी ही पानी भर गया. मुश्किल तब और बढ़ गई जब दोपहर एक बजे संमदर में हाईटाइड आया. शहर में पहले से पानी भरा था. हाईटाइड की वजह से शहर का पानी संमदर में जाने के बजाए. समंदर का पानी शहर में आ गया और इसका असर ये हुआ कि कोलकाता में जगह जगह तीन से चार फुट तक पानी भर गया. एयरपोर्ट पर पानी भर गया. रेल की पटरियां पानी में डूब गईं जिसके कारण कई ट्रेन्स रोकी गईं.

In Kolkata, torrential rain lashed the city for nearly five hours, starting around 2 AM. As a result, the entire city was flooded—roads, railway stations, and the airport were all submerged. The situation worsened further when high tide occurred at 1 PM. With the city already flooded, the rising tide prevented the water from draining into the sea; instead, seawater flooded into the city, causing water levels of three to four feet in many areas. The airport was also flooded, and railway tracks were submerged, leading to the cancellation of several trains.
