NIEDERLANDE: Schach unter Wasser - Diese WM treibt Spieler an ihre Grenzen!

In einem Hallenbad im niederländischen Groningen findet eine der ungewöhnlichsten Weltmeisterschaften statt: die WM im Tauchschach. Die Spieler müssen unter Wasser Schachzüge ausführen, während sie die Luft anhalten. Sobald ein Spieler auftaucht, muss sein Gegner sofort abtauchen und weiterspielen. Pausen oder Verzögerungen sind nicht erlaubt. Wer auftaucht, ohne einen Zug gemacht zu haben, wird verwarnt. Beim zweiten Verstoß folgt die Disqualifikation. Konzentration, Strategie und körperliche Belastbarkeit entscheiden hier gleichermaßen über Sieg oder Niederlage. Ein Wettbewerb zwischen Denksport und Extremsport.
