Let's Play Gothic: A Shadow's Quest
A POV playthrough of the upcoming board game, Gothic: A Shadow's Quest, by THQ Nordic. Featuring a campaign storybook for narrative encounters, open-world exploration, hex-based combat against creatures, and an RPG-style leveling system, players work together to solve a series of quests given to them by NPCs of the mining colony of Khorinis. It is being crowdfunded through Gamefound, which is set to launch on September 30th, 2026. This video shows the first chapter of the prototype's campaign, and is meant to showcase how the basic mechanics work and what the game is like to actually play. Everything shown, here, is a work-in-progress and does not reflect the final product; even the campaign itself and the narrative encounters within it will be overhauled with all-new story for the full release. Specific mechanics, balance, component quality, and so on, are all subject to change as the game continues development.I made a minor clerical mistake at 2:06:15 in both the playthrough and editing; lockpicks cost two ore to purchase, not the four that I spent in the recording, and not the one that I claimed in the edit. They *sell* for one ore, which is the chart I must have been hastily looking at while editing. I am deeply ashamed of this mistake and have flogged myself already in penance.
