At least 15 people have died and over 20 were injured after a bus plunged into a gorge near Kanote village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. According to reports, the bus lost control near a blind curve while travelling from Ramnagar to Udhampur. Rescue teams were rushed to the spot immediately, and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals. Efforts are ongoing to retrieve the bodies of those killed. Union Minister Jitendra Singh has spoken with district officials, with arrangements underway to airlift the critically injured. The Lieutenant Governor termed it a “heartbreaking accident”, while Mehbooba Mufti expressed deep sorrow.---
