(Agenzia Vista) "Riguardo alle critiche fatte all'Unione Europea dagli Usa, ritengo siano critiche politiche ma non credo che questo significhi che qualcuno voglia distruggere l'Unione Europea. Io credo sia un modo, se volete anche abbastanza poco diplomatico, per cercare di fare in modo che l'Europa si prenda delle responsabilità più ampie rispetto a quelle che ha avuto negli ultimi anni. Responsabilità che in parte i leader europei hanno tentato di garantire con l'incremento - addirittura secondo me li' siamo andati oltre le aspettative che avevano gli Stati Uniti, pero' e' una mia opinione personale - del 5% della spesa militare. Secondo me in questo momento gli Stati Uniti, avendo una competizione con la Cina molto importante da affrontare, chiedono che l'Europa si prenda maggiori responsabilità rispetto a quelle che hanno avuto negli ultimi anni", lo ha detto il Presidente della Camera Lorenzo Fontana, durante il tradizionale scambio di auguri di Natale con la stampa parlamentare.Camera
