The number of Indians being deported from the United States is rising, according to new figures revealed by India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Parliament. The data shows that 414 Indian nationals were deported from the US between January and March 2026, making America the largest source of deportations during that period. Over recent years, deportations have increased significantly — from 617 Indians in 2023 to 1,368 in 2024 and 2,025 in 2025. But at the same time, illegal attempts to enter the United States have seen a sharp decline. US official data shows encounters involving Indian nationals have fallen significantly since 2023.
