Stoppelacker in Flammen – Rund 5.000 Quadratmeter brennen bei Eppelheim
Eppelheim: Am Sonntagnachmittag geriet ein etwa 5.000 Quadratmeter großes Feld östlich der A5 in Brand. Die Flammen breiteten sich auf einem Stoppelacker an der Leonie-Wild-Straße in der sogenannten Konklave der Eppelheimer Gemarkung aus.Gegen 17:50 Uhr wurde die Feuerwehr Eppelheim alarmiert. Gemeinsam mit den Wehren aus Plankstadt und Heidelberg wurde der Flächenbrand mit mehreren Strahlrohren schnell unter Kontrolle gebracht. Ein Landwirt unterstützte die Löscharbeiten mit einem Traktor und einem Wassertank.
Durch das schnelle Eingreifen der Einsatzkräfte konnte eine weitere Ausbreitung verhindert werden. Die Leonie-Wild-Straße musste während des Einsatzes zwischen Eppelheim und dem Heidelberger Stadtteil Pfaffengrund voll gesperrt werden. Die Brandursache ist derzeit noch unklar.
