Kuasa Hukum Tom Lembong, Zaid Mushafi meyakini Pengadilan Tinggi bakal mengabulkan banding atas vonis 4,5 tahun penjara kliennya pada perkara korupsi impor gula di Kementerian Perdagangan periode 2015-2016.
Diketahui Tom Lembong lewat kuasa hukumnya baru saja mengajukan banding atas vonis 4,5 tahun penjara pada perkara korupsi impor gula di Pengadilan Negeri (PN) Jakarta Pusat.
Dalam mendaftarkan permohonan banding ini, Kuasa Hukum Tom Lembong Zaid Mushafi membawa surat kuasa baru yang telah ditandatangani Tom Lembong.
Kuasa Hukum Tom Lembong juga membawa dokumen administratif yang dibutuhkan di pengadilan dan setelah permohonan banding terdaftar, dalam beberapa waktu ke depan kubu Tom Lembong akan menyerahkan dokumen memori banding.
Salah satu poin yang menjadi pertimbangan kubu Tom Lembong mengajukan banding yakni ihwal tidak adanya mens rea atau niat jahat dari kliennya melakukan tindak pidana.
Pada sidang vonis Jumat (18/7/2025), Tom Lembong dinyatakan tidak menikmati hasil korupsi impor gula periode 2015 hingga 2016.
