WACKEN OPEN AIR: Tausende schon vor Start da! So soll das nächste Chaos-Festival verhindert werdenWacken ist wieder im Ausnahmezustand – denn in der kleinen Gemeinde in Schleswig-Holstein treffen seit dem Morgen tausende Heavy-Metal-Fans ein. Bis zum Abend erwartet der Veranstalter rund die Hälfte der insgesamt 85.000 Besucherinnen und Besucher auf dem Festivalgelände. Die Anreise verläuft bislang reibungslos – ein Erfolg des neuen Zufahrtssystems, das nach dem Chaos von 2023 eingeführt wurde. Damals hatte Dauerregen das Gelände in eine unpassierbare Schlammwüste verwandelt, viele Fans mussten trotz Tickets draußen bleiben. In diesem Jahr soll alles besser laufen: Mit Gummistiefeln, Mülltüten und jeder Menge Vorfreude im Gepäck stimmen sich die Metalheads auf ein lautstarkes Wochenende ein. Headliner sind Guns N’ Roses, Papa Roach und Apocalyptica. WELT-Reporterin Alina Quast berichtet.
