Aid cuts deepen Sudan's health crisis as displaced struggle for care

Displaced people living in camps in Sudan's Blue Nile state are struggling to access healthcare as aid agencies face severe funding cuts. The state hosts more than 300,000 displaced people, including over 50,000 newly displaced this year alone. Reduced funding has forced programmes to shut down, leaving clinics near shelters without medicines or vaccines. Patients must now travel long distances to reach functioning facilities, often unable to afford transportation. One clinic run by Doctors Without Borders receives more than 1,000 cases per week, with doctors warning that approaching rainy season conditions will increase demand and further strain the few remaining services responding to one of the world's largest humanitarian crises.
