Photoshop's NEW Relight Layer: Move the Light AFTER the Shot!

Learn how to use the new Relight Layer in Photoshop to change the lighting in any photo after the shoot.

Photoshop's Relight layer rebuilds your image's lighting with Generative AI, using up to three movable lights. Drag the light icon across the canvas, and the highlights and shadows move with it. Photoshop relights the scene; it doesn't paint a glow on top. Relight is currently in the Photoshop beta.

You'll see how every control works, from original lighting and intensity to diffusion, depth, and custom light colors. Then we'll relight a portrait, a room, a landscape, and a full composite, so you know exactly where Relight shines, where it breaks, and how many generative credits each render costs.

This tutorial is for anyone who wants to fix bad lighting without a reshoot, from beginners to retouchers and compositors.

In this video, you'll learn:
- How to create a Relight layer in Photoshop
- How to control original lighting, intensity, and diffusion
- How to add multiple lights with custom colors
- How Relight detects windows and other light sources
- How to relight a composite with a stamped layer
- How to mask a Relight layer to protect the background
- How many generative credits Relight uses
