“Eso no es ayuda humanitaria”: María Elvira cuestiona envíos de lujo a la isla
En este contundente segmento, Alex Otaola, presidente de la Fundación Cubana Anticomunista, reaccionó a la intervención de María Elvira Salazar en el Congreso de Estados Unidos, donde cuestionó bajo juramento la concesión de licencias que permitieron exportaciones de artículos de lujo a Cuba.Durante la audiencia, Salazar interrogó a funcionarios del Buró de Industria y Seguridad (BIS) sobre licencias que habrían permitido el envío de Ferraris, Rolls-Royce, Maseratis, jacuzzis y otros bienes que no califican como ayuda humanitaria. La congresista exigió revisar y potencialmente revocar cualquier autorización que no esté estrictamente limitada a alimentos y medicinas.
Otaola destacó el trabajo del recaudador de impuestos del condado Miami-Dade, Dariel Fernández, y de otros funcionarios locales que han documentado estas operaciones. También subrayó la necesidad de cerrar posibles vacíos legales que, según denuncian, han permitido exportaciones cuestionables bajo licencias generales.
El análisis incluyó además referencias a investigaciones sobre ventas millonarias en plataformas digitales y posibles esquemas para inflar precios de plantas eléctricas destinadas a Cuba. Otaola insistió en que las autoridades federales ya están monitoreando estas transacciones y que el debate apenas comienza.
