Dalam keterangannya di pendopo Kantor Bupati Pati, Sudewo menolak untuk lengser dari jabatannya.
Menurutnya ia merupakan pemimpin Pati yang sudah dipilih resmi oleh rakyat secara konstitusional dan domokratis.
Hal itu menjadi alasan mengapa ia tidak bisa dihentikan begitu saja oleh tuntutan pendemo.
Sudewo kemudian lanjut berpesan agar warga Pati bisa terus menjaga solidaritas satu sama lain.
Ia meminta agar warga Pati tidak gampang terprovokasi oleh pihak mana pun.
Sudewo lebih lanjut berharap agar kejadian tersebut bisa menjadi pelajaran bagi seluruh masyarakat agar peristiwa serupa tidak terulang kembali.
Sementara itu ketika ditanya tanggapannya terkait para pendemo yang mengalami luka-luka.
Sudewo menyebut bahwa para korban sudah dibawa ke rumah sakit untuk menerima perawatan.
Ia juga turut menyampaikan belasungkawa atas korban jiwa yang terdampak dari aksi demo.
