Tragedia y desprecio: Otaola muestra el destino de un combatiente olvidado por el PCC
En este fragmento, Alex Otaola aborda un caso que retrata con crudeza el abandono absoluto en el que quedan los mismos revolucionarios que un día defendieron al sistema. La denuncia muestra el cuerpo de un hombre de Oriente, un militante de toda la vida, que falleció y fue tratado con una indiferencia total: sin honores, sin bandera, sin medallas y sin el respeto que el régimen suele prometerle a quienes le sirven como piezas sacrificables.Otaola señala la ironía profunda: durante décadas, este hombre —como tantos otros— estuvo dispuesto a salir a la calle con un palo, a participar en actos de repudio, a “defender la revolución” y a repetir el discurso oficialista. Pero al morir, el sistema que ayudó a sostener lo dejó tirado, literalmente. Su cuerpo permaneció dos días sin sepultura, sin espacio en la bóveda de combatientes y sin que ninguna institución se hiciera responsable. Para el activista, es la prueba irrefutable de que nadie, ni siquiera los más fieles, significan algo para el Partido Comunista.
El mensaje de Otaola es claro: esta escena no es un accidente, sino la norma. El régimen utiliza, exprime y desecha incluso a aquellos que dieron su vida por él. La maquinaria que ellos mismos defendieron termina tragándolos con el mismo desprecio que al resto del pueblo. Para Otaola, esta historia debe servir de advertencia a todos los cubanos —militantes incluidos— sobre el destino que espera a cualquiera que siga confiando en un sistema que solo reparte miseria, abandono y humillación.
