Beyond Left and Right: What the 2026 Midterms Really Mean
Democrats swept the House and the Senate in the 2026 midterms. But what was the real reason? Trump says it was the price of gas. JD Vance says it was the war. Tucker Carlson says it was betrayal. Democrats say it was prices and corruption. In this video, I go over what happened, the reasons each side is giving, and then look deeper: the "thermostat" effect, price shocks around the world, voters who no longer stick with one party, falling trust in Washington, and young people who feel locked out. Then the last time America flipped back and forth like this, in the Gilded Age, and how the country addressed the divide. I finish with my own thoughts on where things go from here: leadership, AI, and why I'm hopeful about America's future.
(note: at 13:24 I mean to say 1870s, 80s, 90s but mistakenly said 1970s. The on-screen text shows the correct 1870s, etc).
