Kennedy Jr., il progetto che vuole riportare al centro la salute dal punto di vista alimentare negli Stati Uniti. Sì, parliamo di un Paese molto colpito da malattie relative alla cattiva alimentazione. Molto di più rispetto a noi, Paese mediterraneo, si potrebbe dire per restare tranquilli. Ma si tratta ormai di un vecchio luogo comune che rischia di cancellare la possibilità di qualsiasi analisi seria sui rischi alimentari, anche in Europa. E' notizia di pochi giorni infatti che il 97% dei cibi extra UE entra in Europa senza controlli adeguati. A lanciare l'allarme è la Coldiretti, secondo cui solo il 3% delle merci agroalimentari importate in UE viene effettivamente controllato. Il rischio di essere quindi esposti a cibi trattati con pesticidi e antibiotici vietati in Europa esiste. La preoccupazione sale se poi si pensa all'intesa sull'accordo commerciale dell'Unione Europea col Mercosur, i Paesi del Sudamerica.
