Venezuela repone los insumos médicos que fueron destruidos en almacenes del Puerto de La Guaira durante los ataques estadounidenses de inicio de año.Entre los objetivos de los ataques con misiles y bombas del Gobierno estadounidense contra los venezolanos también estuvieron medicamentos que estaban en varios almacenes del segundo puerto más importante del país en el Litoral Central, que forma parte de la región conocida como la Gran Caracas. Otro de los lugares bombardeados fue el Puerto de La Guaira. El ataque afectó un inventario para 3 meses de insumos de hemodiálisis para los pacientes que enfrentan enfermedades renales crónicas.
En los últimos días han aterrizado en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía Simón Bolívar aviones con los medicamentos completando más de 200.000 unidades de insumos. El Gobierno informó que el programa de diálisis se ha normalizado en las 127 unidades de diálisis que existen en el país. Los misiles cayeron en varios lugares de ese puerto. Uno destruyó parte de una de las cercas del puerto que lo separa de la carretera y frente al monumento histórico conocido como La Guipuzcoana. En su fachada hay rastros de ese impacto.
