Mirko Bernardinello, rodigino di 48 anni, è stato il primo paziente in Italia ad essere sottoposto a trapianto cardiaco da donatore a cuore fermo. L’ha operato l’11 maggio 2023 il professor Gino Gerosa, allora direttore del «Centro Gallucci» di Cardiochirurgia di Padova e oggi assessore alla Sanità. Con Gerosa e il governatore Alberto Stefani, Bernardinello ha presentato il «Donation Day» del 16 aprile, dedicato all’informazione e alla promozione della donazione di organi e tessuti, fondamentale per restituire una speranza di vita ai 1300 pazienti veneti in lista d’attesa. Mirko racconta come è cambiata la sua vita grazie al gesto d’amore del suo «angelo» trevigiano, il donatore appunto, e perché ha voluto scrivere insieme al giornalista Antonio Girardi il libro «A cuore fermo», edito da Cleup e i cui proventi andranno a due associazioni che si occupano di trapianti.
