AIR INDIA DREAMLINER ABGESTÜRZT: Boeing 787 mit rund 240 Passagieren in Wohngebiet abgestürzt

Im Nordwesten Indiens ist ein Passagierflugzeug mit 244 Menschen kurz nach dem Start abgestürzt. Die Maschine vom Typ Boeing 787 sei in ein Wohngebiet in Ahmedabad im Unionsstaat Gujarat gestürzt, sagte der Generaldirektor der indischen Zivilluftfahrtbehörde, Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, der Nachrichtenagentur AP. An Bord seien neben 232 Passagieren zwölf Besatzungsmitglieder. Nach Angaben der Fluggesellschaft Air India war die Maschine auf dem Weg nach London-Gatwick.

Auf Bildern lokaler Fernsehsender war zu sehen, wie Rauch von der Absturzstelle in der Nähe des Flughafens aufstieg.

Die Boeing 787 Dreamliner ist ein zweistrahliges Großraumflugzeug. Laut der Datenbank des Aviation Safety Network war es der erste Absturz einer Maschine dieses Typs überhaupt.
