Hal ini terjadi setelah Hamas melakukan penyergapan besar-besaran terhadap posisi pendudukan.
Dikutip dari Al-Mayadeen, serangan besar-besaran dilakukan perlawanan dua hari yaitu mulai 29-30 Juni 2024.
Akibat serangan itu, tentara Israel mengakui bahwa 44 tentara terluka termasuk di Jalur Gaza.
Dengan begitu, jumlah tentara yang terluka sejak perang pecah pada (7/10/2023) sebanyak 4.021 orang.
Sebelumnya, Brigade Al-Qassam mengaku mampu memikat pasukan Israel ke sebuah rumah yang telah dipasang jebakan.
Rumah tersebut digunakan dalam operasi penembakan baru-baru ini di sebelah timur kota Rafah.
Mereka mengklaim, tentara Israel ada yang terbunuh dan terluka.
Media Israel juga mengakui bahwa bangunan jebakan di Rafah runtuh menimpa tentara Israel.
Membenarkan sejumlah orang terluka, beberapa di antaranya terluka parah.
Perlawanan juga menargetkan tentara dan kendaraan pendudukan Israel di lingkungan Shujaiya, dengan rentetan mortir secara berkala.
Tentara pendudukan mengakui bahwa seorang tentara tewas dan seorang lainnya terluka parah.
