Ukraine plunged into darkness: how far will Russia go?
The Russian Air Force has intensified its attacks on Ukraine, massively targeting the country’s energy infrastructure.Power plants, fuel depots, and several civilian facilities have been struck, plunging millions of Ukrainians into darkness.
While Moscow calls them “strategic strikes,” Kyiv denounces a campaign aimed at spreading fear among the population.
With winter approaching, the humanitarian situation is becoming increasingly dire.
Do these attacks truly serve a military purpose, or are they merely a way to punish the Ukrainian people for their resistance?
🎙️ Participants:
– Irina Shevchisko, a French-Ukrainian reporter who witnesses the bombings and civilian suffering every day.
She condemns what she calls “a war against vital infrastructure” and urges the West to impose a no-fly zone and deliver more air defense systems to Kyiv.
– Sergei Burikov, a former Russian diplomat and expert in post-Soviet international relations.
He argues that these strikes are militarily justified — meant to disrupt Ukraine’s logistics and weaken its defense industry.
According to him, the Russian army is acting “with precision,” unlike NATO, which he claims “has often struck indiscriminately.”
💬 What do you think?
👉 Are these Russian strikes a legitimate military strategy or a campaign of terror against civilians?
