Alex Camera non molla mai. Anzi, cerca sempre di fare di più, di stupire e regalare nuove emozioni. L'atleta che aveva già messo a segno imprese come trainare cinque aerei e fare trazioni alla sbarra sospeso tra due camion in movimento ha sfidato ancora un aereo. Ma stavolta con motore acceso alla massima potenza. Nella prova del 29 agosto a Nervesa della Battaglia, nel Trevigiano, presso la Fondazione Jonathan Collection, si è messo alla prova nel trattenere un aereo della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, lungo 7.43 metri e dal peso di circa 500 chili, tenendolo fermo mentre tentava il decollo da terra. Imbragato e agganciato a un veicolo per sicurezza, Camera era collegato all’aereo tramite un sistema di corde e un triangolo di supporto. Il tempo di resistenza è stato preso nel momento in cui il motore ha raggiunto il massimo dei giri: 9.86 secondi, certificati dal personale della Federazione Italiana Cronometristi. «Per questa prova ho dovuto rimandare al 16 ottobre l'appuntamento con la Grotta Gigante (in Friuli Venezia Giulia, dove avrebbe dovuto tentare un'arrampicata record, ndr) e, in meno di due mesi, ho rimesso su peso e massa muscolare, aumentando la forza. Come? Mangiando molte pizze e proteine - spiega l’atleta pordenonese - La maggiore difficoltà è stata sicuramente la forza sprigionata dall'aereo. Non potevo mollare immediatamente la presa, altrimenti il pilota avrebbe rischiato di perdere il controllo del velivolo».
