The Most Important Question About AI Isn't About AI

AI is becoming extraordinarily capable. It can write, analyse, create, and solve problems that once required years of human learning.

But as machines become more capable, a deeper question emerges: What makes us human, and what makes a human life valuable?

Inspired by Peter Thiel's recent conversation with Walter Isaacson, I reflect on the things that matter beyond intelligence and productivity: relationships, memories, meaning, mortality, and the difference between being useful and being valuable.

Perhaps the most important question about AI isn't really about technology. It's about us.
