Dua jenazah pekerja tersebut kemudian dievakuasi untuk selanjutnya diidentifikasi.
Adapun dari hasil identifikasi terungkap bahwa keduanya adalah Wigih Hartono asal Tulungagung, Jawa Timur dan Irawan asal Cilacap, Jawa Tengah.
Keduanya bekerja sebagai electrician PT Cita Contract.
Presiden Direktur PT Freeport Indonesia, Tony Wenas dalam keterangannya mengungkapkan, dua pekerja tersebut ditemukan sekira pukul 08.45 WIT.
Terkait dengan hal tersebut, Tony menyampaikan rasa duka mendalam pada keluarga yang ditinggalkan.
Menurut Tony, PT Freeport Indonesia akan terus mendampingi dan memberikan dukungan pada keluarga.
Seusai identifikasi dan visum, kedua korban kemudian dibawa ke rumah duka untuk dimakamkan.
Adapun saat ini, tim melakukan upaya pencarian terhadap lima pekerja yang belum ditemukan.
Sebelumnya, insiden longsor tambang bawah tanah Freeport terjadi pada Senin (8/9) pukul 23.21 WIT.
Kala itu ada tujuh pekerja yang dilaporkan terjebak di area tambang yang tertutup material.
Proses evakuasi terhadap para korban dilakukan selama nyaris dua pekan menggunakan alat berat.
