Waldbrände wüten auch auf griechischer Insel Kreta und in der Türkei
Während Einsatzkräfte in Frankreich und Spanien immer noch gegen die Ausbreitung der Waldbrände dort kämpfen, sind inzwischen weitere Feuer in der Türkei und in Griechenland ausgebrochen.Im südtürkischen Antalya bekämpft die Feuerwehr seit Dienstag mehrere Brände in der Touristenregion. Ein Teil konnte bereits gelöscht werden, berichtete die staatliche Nachrichtenagentur Anadolu. Darüber hinaus wurden mehrere Brände in den Provinzen Balikesir, Kütahya, Canakkale und Yalova im Westen der Türkei südlich von Istanbul und in der Provinz Mugla im Südwesten der Türkei gemeldet.
Auch an der griechischen Mittelmeerküste und auf mehreren Inseln kam es zu neuen großen Bränden. Tausende Urlauber:innen und Anwohner:innen mussten dadurch im Laufe des Tages ihre Unterkünfte verlassen.
