The Delhi High Court has upheld the government's temporary ban on Telegram, refusing to grant relief to the messaging platform ahead of the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21. The Centre argued that Telegram was being misused by cheating syndicates, paper leak networks, cybercriminals and other illegal operators targeting the examination process. While Telegram questioned the legality and proportionality of blocking the entire platform, the court said the government had followed due process and that the action was a proportionate measure to protect the integrity of the exam. Meanwhile, security arrangements have been significantly strengthened, with the Indian Air Force set to airlift question papers and authorities rolling out multiple safeguards for more than two million students.
