DEUTSCHE BAHN: Hamburg–Berlin dicht! Pendler und CDU stinksauer – droht jetzt das Lutz-Aus?Die Deutsche Bahn sperrt ab sofort die zentrale Strecke zwischen Hamburg und Berlin für ganze neun Monate. Die Generalsanierung gilt als größtes Projekt der Bahn in ihrer Geschichte. Bahnchef Richard Lutz versucht Optimismus zu verbreiten, doch der Druck auf ihn steigt. Mit 760 Millionen Euro Verlust im ersten Halbjahr steht der Konzern weiter tief in der Krise. Die Union fordert personelle Konsequenzen, CDU-Politiker Patrick Schnieder verlangt eine neue Strategie und eine schlankere Führung. Die Pünktlichkeit bleibt schlecht, Ticketpreise steigen. Finanziert wird das Mammutprojekt mit 20 Milliarden Euro aus dem Sondervermögen Infrastruktur. Das Chaos für Reisende ist vorprogrammiert.
