The United States and Iran have exchanged military strikes in a dramatic escalation across West Asia. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces targeted Iranian missile and drone storage sites, as well as coastal radar positions, in response to what it called Iran’s ‘unwarranted aggression’ against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald Trump condemned Iran’s actions as a ‘foolish violation’ of the ceasefire agreement, while Vice President JD Vance warned that ‘violence will be met with violence.’ Iranian state media confirmed explosions inside the country, including near the Taherouyeh pier, and announced fresh retaliatory strikes on US sites in West Asia. Tehran has also warned of a broader response if further attacks occur, even as negotiations continue over a final US-Iran peace agreement.-----------------
