Kebakaran yang merenggut 14 korban jiwa ini telah diselidiki secara mendalam. Dalam proses penyelidikan, polisi telah memeriksa 42 saksi yang terdiri dari pihak manajemen, korban selamat, dan para ahli untuk mengetahui kronologi kejadian.
Polres Metro Jakarta Barat juga mengungkapkan hasil penyelidikan Puslabfor Polri. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kebakaran disebabkan oleh hubungan arus pendek pada panel instalasi listrik yang berada di belakang videotron. Percikan api yang ditimbulkan memicu kebakaran besar di Glodok Plaza.
Saat ini, aktivitas di Glodok Plaza hanya dapat diakses di lantai satu dan dua saja. Sementara itu, lantai tiga hingga sembilan masih diberi garis polisi untuk keperluan penyelidikan dan keamanan. PWHY
